Axel started riding as a 9 year old in Germany and later attended the well known riding schools of Warendorf and von Neindorff. After moving to the USA in 1961, he competed on his own horses and on horses owned by the US Modern Pentathlon Team until his military duties interfered. He received his first national judges licence in 1968, and was promoted by the FEI to Official status (FEI-O, now FEI Five Star*****) in 1988. Axel has judged in 35 different countries, from Zambia to World Cup Finals, Pan American, and Olympic Games. After retiring from the military in 1988, he has also concentrated on teaching, and is now a much sought after clinician throughout the country. Jeff Petska - Reining

Jeff Petska grew up in Nebraska where he became involved in the equine industry on the college rodeo team at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He then started with performance horses at the Pitzer Ranch in Nebraska. His career continued under the employment of Carol Rose from 1990 to 1996. Today Jeff is known for his many accomplishments in Reining including being a NRHA Open Futurity finalist, an AQHA World Champion, and an AQHA Reserve World Champion. He currently serves as an NRHA judge, an AQHA judge, a board member of the NRHA, as well as Chair and vice-chair of NRHA Professionals. Jeff has been involved with the USEF since 2002 when he became the Chef d’Equipe for the Gold medal winning US teams at the 2002 Nations Cup, the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, followed by the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany.

Doug Mills - Working Cow Horse

Doug Mills has built his training skills and riding abilities over a lifetime of horsemanship. Born and raised on a working cattle ranch in Price, Utah, offered Doug a lifestyle that gave him the opportunity to observe horses and their instincts in their natural environment. This is the key to Doug's ability to read and communicate with horses. Doug credits many clinicians and trainers for the success of his program, but the horse is still his most influential teacher.
With his wife, Lynette and four children, (Kyle, Kade, Kaylee and Kelcie) he moved to British Columbia, Canada as a farrier and horse trainer in 1989, where he has continued to build his “Training Thru Trust” program. His two sons, now in their twenties, also train horses using the Doug Mills method.

Kay has been teaching and training with horses for many years.
She started at a young age with draft horses and Morgans.
Kay has had her Equine Canada Driving Coaches Certification for ten years now.
Kay has helped many students get their animals going in cart for both shows and pleasure. Kay competes in both combined driving, and pleasure shows with some of her own horses also.
Kay shows in many breed shows driving Andalusian, Friesian, Welsh, Donkey and Mini Horses.
Kay also shows and breeds CKC reg. German Shepherd Dogs in her spare time.

Marion Weisskopff - Horsemanship

Marion's love of horses started at a very early age and has never wavered to the present day. Marion has a true understanding of the nature of the horse, and she passes on her years of experience and knowledge to her clients through lessons and clinics. Marion grew up at her parents riding School in West Germany. Her parents where open minded to different approaches of training horses and different riding styles. Even though her Mother was a certified English riding instructor, she gave Marion the opportunity to learn from many other instructors in different fields of the Equine world.
By the time the family moved to Canada in 1984, Marion was already accomplished as a horse person, having earned the FN. German Bronze and Silver medal for Jumping and Dressage riding and the FN. Bronze medal for team driving.

After playing around with the fun stuff, Marion developed a horse training technique that works well for her. Having had a background in so many aspects of the horse world, like English Riding; Western Riding; Horse logging; Cow work, training and participating in the 50 day Friesian stallion testing in Texas, packing, guiding in the Chilcotin – where she also had the opportunity to be around wild horses on a daily basis, and presenting demonstration shows of riding horses without the aid of bridleor saddle. Marion has combined a lot of what she had learned from the horses she had the privilege to work with and the people that she learned from, to develop her own technique. Marion is a CHA Certified level 4 English Riding Instructor including jumping; CHA Certified level 4 Western Riding Instructor and a CHA Certified Level 4 Wilderness Guide Instructor. Also a CHA – Certified Instructor for English, Western, Trail and Driving, which makes her at this time the highest level CHA Certified instructor in Canada.
