Brent Trout

Brent Trout

Brent Trout is a trainer/clinician residing in East Central Alberta. Growing up on a farm across the road from the historic Imperial Ranch, there were always horses to ride and what seemed to a young man, like an ocean of grass to ride them on. In his teen years Brent’s health would begin to deteriorate. Horses would become a substantial part of his identity equaled only by his disease. A disease called Alports Syndrome reaped havoc on Brent’s vision and hearing as well as destroying his kidneys. This young man, despite his adversities never quit. Soon only one identity emerged, that of a horseman. His burdens had become his wings and he would take flight, studying everything he could about horses and horse training acquiring the knowledge that he has today. Never satisfied, Brent continues to seek out individuals, as well as horses, that he can learn from and share with.

Brent has conducted numerous clinics and demonstrations in Western Canada, as well as Italy, over the years often in the company of his paint gelding Checkmate, exhibiting tack less riding and liberty work. He is best known for his ability to relate to his audience in terms of where they are at in their horsemanship and help them reach their goals.

Brent shares his life with his wife Carrie and their two beautiful children, as well as the rest of the four legged family. He has been blessed with many friends as a result of his involvement in the industry and looks forward to making many more. He personally invites you to stop by his booth, for a visit.
