INTERNATIONAL CLINICIANS AND EQUINE EXTRAVAGANZA HIGHLIGHT EXPO

VANCOUVER, WA – Horse enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest will have a rare opportunity next week to access the expertise of a diverse lineup of clinicians and presenters recognized as the best in their equestrian disciplines.

The Mane Event Equine Education & Trade Fair at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Vancouver, WA which runs February 17 – 19, features three-time U.S. Olympian Jim Wofford, dressage competitor and trainer Jan Ebeling, internationally acclaimed “trailman”, Tim Kimura and World Champion quarter horse trainer Cleve Wells, as well as several other equine specialists who will present over 81 hours of clinics. The three days will be highlighted by a Saturday evening extravaganza of fast paced and colorful entertainment and demonstrations.

The Mane Event’s “trademark” attraction, the Trainer’s Challenge, is again creating a lot of buzz in the horse world. In the head-to-head competition three trainers use their own particular training techniques to work with young horses under the watchful eye of three judges. Three young unbroke quarter horses, provided by Frontier Ranch of Orville, WA, will be introduced for the first time to trainers who will showcase their skills over 2˝ days in four round pen sessions leading to a final showdown and showcase Sunday afternoon. Spectators have the opportunity to watch and learn from some of the country’s top horse trainers including Charles Wilhelm of California, native Oregonian Steve Rother, and Rick Wheat, who learned his horsemanship skills from his Native American Grandfather at an early age.

Event organizers say they are pleased, though not surprised at the enthusiasm and interest in the Mane Event, one of North America’s premier horse expos, which is making its first appearance in Clark County, which boasts the largest horse population in the country. Exhibitors have rushed to acquire all of the more than 200 booths at the trade fair. They will be offering everything from bits to boots and tack to trailers, plus a wealth of everything to do with the horse. Presentations include a Saturday afternoon fashion show of western wear for showing or “showing off” presented by Riding High USA.
